is it wrong to time skip/age up anime characters (minors specifically) in fanfiction? whether it be for smut or just plot based ??
i just want to hear opinions bc ive been seeing arguments for both sides but i’ve also read a plethora of ff’s that age up and people don’t say anything.

@-SUNNEE ahhhh !! i really never understood the problem with people writing their characters in future context where they happen to be adults. as you said, it would be boring to have your character set in one time frame the whole story! i just wanted to make sure because i’m seeing like two creators getting hate for ‘ageing up’ their characters. thank you for the kind response !!! <333

@7MIEKO No it’s not wrong to age up, I mean that's the point of it being an alternate universe right? I wouldn't even classify this as 'ageing up'. Usually when that term is used it is used on just one character to maybe close the age gap, have them all the same age or something. So you're just writing in the future, that's normal. That's like a good portion of fics I read. How boring would fanfiction be if we had to stick within the time frame of the series and no one could ever age?
