Arre, in the later half of the story, it's revealed that he was already a doting guy for the young Ruhi. Protective about her right from her birth(they were family friends and very close) but he had to join the mafia and there's a lot of threats to Ruhi which is why, he is trying to avoid her. It's like Ruhi is his kryptonite. You harm her to hurt him fatally. That's why he tries to avoid her. His father set their marriage for a different reason. Yudhi was hell bent to protect Ruhi right from her birth and Ruhi's life was under a threat from her uncle who also kidnapped her twin sister when they were 6 months old. Yudhi even manipulated Ruhi's dad to not send her abroad for college before even the marriage drama started, because he was concerned about her security. Thus the set up. They're not forced actually

@_itsvivi_ no thanks I don't want to ruin my time and mood by reading this story. As far as I read I find this really problematic like if u insult someone or disrespect someone it's ok but if get that in return then oh no. Along with so called parents support.

And I'm not asking you to read the story. I know there's a lot of problems with Ruhi mistreating him and being excused bwcause she's a 20 yo or she's a girl and even some apalling behaviour from Yudhi. Difference is Yudhi apologized but Ruhi didn't. I know. Even I got irked out at those scenes. But because I read from 36 chapter onwards, I first saw that he cared for her and no one else right from the beginning so I knew that he wasn't forced and there's more to the story. I read the first few chapters after completing the story.
And oh, as I said. I don't like dark romance either. This is the only one I read properly mainly because I was searching for stories about Yudhishthira from Mahabharata and ran into this and started reading it midway. Even I look down upon the romanticizing of stalking, toxicity, kidnapping controlling behaviour in the dark stories. Like if this happens irl no one would approve. Fluff and true love is my thing tbh lol. You can check my library actually. Filled with fluff reads.
