CALL OUT FOR FANFIC DOCUMENTARY PARTICIPANTS IN ENGLAND!!

Growing up with fanfiction, it feels like you have a secret. You’d read amazing stories (for free!) long into the night, but you had no answer when asked in school what you like to read. There tends to be a shaming of online communities and virtual interaction and in starting conversations about fanfics, we found that the general perception of the community was all wrong.

This documentary aims to widen the understanding of the fanfic community, not only within itself but enlighten non-fanfic readers about the wonderful world that has evolved into a diverse and unique medium.

We’re a film crew that wants to provide an honest look into these communities and encourage the educational and positive properties of the medium.

With mainstream media now reaching into the world of fanfics, it's important that we provide a platform for the community to represent themselves in their own words, amplified by research and analysis conducted into the world.

We aim to interview a range of different voices:

For those who’ve established a prolific writing career, did fanfiction help them, and how do the two worlds differ?

Insight from those who write/read and their experiences in being the creators that keep these communities alive. As well as the connections they form with one another.

Experts who have studied fanfiction as a whole, and researchers who can provide insights into how the different aspects operate.

Help us clear up the air around fanfiction!
