Guys, it has been a long four years.
Many of you knew that I had a lot of issues with my mother, regarding her treatment of me. I'm not going to get into details, but that reached a peak, and she ended up taking away all my access to electronics. When she finally returned them to me, she had put extreme restrictions and parental controls on them. She was essentially surveying my every move and would remind me that she had the ability to do so constantly.
It's been a little over two years since these restrictions were removed from my devices, but I had lived in fear of her finding out (despite me being nearly 20 now) for so long that I refused to return to many of the apps that I had originally loved so much. Because of her, I lost contact with many of my closest friends, but I am finally ready to return to the internet, specifically Wattpad.
I am still living with my mother part-time, but I spend most of my time away from her because I have been lucky enough to get the opportunity to attend college, which was something I had only dreamed of as a young teenager.
I plan to revamp this account and make it my own again. I want to be able to share the stories I am writing for class, and just have an online community of writers I'm a part of again. This does mean I will be taking down my currently published works on here, but don't worry, I have big plans for them in the future.
Wattpad and the community I found on here when I was younger is one of the driving forces for why I am still writing today. I appreciate everyone who has supported me on this platform and has pushed me forward to make me a better writer today. I'm confident in what I do now. I've begun sharing and publishing my work in real life, and you all (as well as some supportive High School English teachers) have been extremely influential in that.
I've made it. Thank you to everyone on this platform who has supported me over the years. I'm okay now, and I appreciate every one of you so much.
