@Def-not-Mar I’m sorry for misunderstanding and yes if I ever happened to find that Joofy posts boundaries in the future that go against shipping, I would gladly remove my content and refrain from writing it in the fture

@ALLIGAT0R-B0Y Oh no, no no no, surprised wouldn't be the right adjective to explain it, let alone angry, in fact I totally expected it of you and I thought it wasn't something so out of the ordinary. Since Joofy's boundaries are unclear I understand your confusion, and I can't say you're boundary breaking either by writing that knowing his are not stated anywhere. Even if it is later revealed that you're fanworks are against his boundaries, it is entirely up to you whether to take it down, let it be and not do it again, or continue, it's up to your heart. Boundary breakers are not a part of my DNI and therefore they're safe to interact with me whatsoever (not to be confused with supporting it, I don't condone any act of boundary breaking). Nonetheless, the CCs themselves know and are aware that the existence of media outside of their boundaries will exist and are out of their control, and I'm pretty sure JUST assigning their roles in shipping as top or bottom/dom or sub without writing/picturing them acting on it isn't too much frowned upon (as I haven't read your fic on AO3 and have only seen the tags, I'm sorry if I got it wrong), I myself do that and I don't consider myself a boundary breaker, though I would put those thoughts somewhere away from the eyes of CCs.
I'm a peaceful frolicker in the fandom space and the last thing I do is ghost people without explanation, as I have learned from a certain incident, so no, I'm not angry and I will support you no matter what :)

Why is it that in Maizen’s videos with an “older” looking style, such as having a shadeless Minecraft map and Mikey’s username as “etizenryoma,” is Mikey’s personality slightly different? Like he’s twice as funny in those videos and makes puns and jokes more often. Were they secretly all made in a different time period, but their uploads are mingled years later with the current video’s?

Def-not-Mar

@ALLIGAT0R-B0Y those videos are from 2019-2020, where Zenmai didn't have much restriction to how he wants to portray Mikey, his original personality was a dumb but sassy turtle and I think it balances out Zenichi's

The Skyblock map in “JJ vs. Mikey” actually was the same one from Skyblock Civilization, hidden desert island and all, omg.

The sheer difference between these two YouTubers’ experiences on these exact islands is insane. JJ and Mikey are just planting trees, tilling the soil, and farming like a peaceful married couple, meanwhile Joofy was fighting for his life and fearfully avoiding the person who’s slaughtered all of his friends in cold blood and planned to kill him next, which he was traumatized from, and fought the pro to death and threw him over the ledge to save his own life. Damn.

Chipping away at Maizen’s latest Minecraft video and I saw a comment with a timestamp that said “KSI reference?” and I didn’t know what it meant, but two seconds later JJ said “now they’re in the thick of it!!!” and I jst giggled so hard, I was afraid I might’ve woken the fam. I’m still giggling typing this right now. It’s the timing and way he casually says it that’s taking me out

It bothers me when people write about Maizen and Joofy on AO3 and then tag it with “RPF” it’s not fucking RPF

I just fucking hate how much I’m talking and thinking about AO3 now because of this “policy drama” bs, meanwhile Wattpad’s terms on smut has ALWAYS stayed the same. Can everyone just stfu about the dark web already, a tiny policy change doesn’t suddenly mean we should all hail it.

Real person fiction is when you write about REAL PEOPLE IN REAL LIFE. Fictional characters in video game settings don’t count.

—Maizen takes place completely in Minecraft. The characters, JJ and Mikey, are also completely fictional. The voice actors of English Maizen are not at all related to or connected to the characters; they aren’t personas of anyone. Their personalities are not at all replicating that of the voice actors or anyone else. I’m not sure about the Japanese channel, but that doesn’t matter because I don’t watch the Japanese channel; because of the exact reason that it gets iffy.

—Joofy is also a fictional, scripted character that is solely in Minecraft. The person behind the channel JoofyLooby uses the character’s name as his online handle, but the character is not connected to the person behind the channel because: 1. Obviously his real name isn’t Joofy 2. The personality of the character isn’t based off the creator’s, and therefore isn’t a persona; Joofy uproots entire governments and oppression in days’ time, is overpowered, kills anyone who stands in his way, etc. In “spies vs. speedrunners,” a video where the actual person behind JoofyLooby plays the game with his friends instead of voice acting the character he’s made, the creator is completely chill, rather quiet, and just follows along with everyone. It’s clear that the Joofy character isn’t a persona because the character’s personality isn’t based off of the creator’s. That wouldn’t even be possible anyway given how exaggerated Joofy (the character’s)’s personality is.

So in short I don’t like it when people on AO3 label not RPF things as RPF, because then it makes me question myself and feel like shit for writing ships from those fandoms. Meanwhile I shouldn’t have to question myself because the characters I ship from both fandoms are entirely fictional and have no connections to real people.
