Blarght! So many edgy stuffs, so many inaccuracy, so many cringe stuffs! Reviewing my chapters were a great mistake!

Good morning.

I would like to announce that I'm doing rebranding, somewhat.

Oh, no. I'm *still* going to be writing Prototype stuffs, though I admit that I have my eyes set elsewhere. I am currently working on the outlines of Prototype: A New Start rewrite, but I have a concern.

You see, I've come to realize that I might have made Mercer way too OOC. He's too human, too goofy... too hesitant.

Amongst many other things, I essentially want to write him more accurately. But make no mistake; being colder ==//== ruthless or evil. Emotional detachment with humanity as a whole does not make one automatically the axis of evil.

With that aside, I was wondering if you darlings would like it if I keep Damian, his lovely companion, around? Or should I make it more Mercer-centric, instead of "Tale of Two MCs"...

Just Mercer as the sole MC?

ALTR-Callistra

Obviously this doesn't means I'm removing OCs 100%. What would the story be like if its just Alex running around with no other people?

A prime example is ballistic missiles! Imagine blacklight-tipped bio-bombs with the entire missile; both it's hull and components being made from converted biomass.

See, give a bit of sentience on them to track on their targets and you don't need to make fancy super-revolutionary targeting system and AI that can be fooled by chaff and flares.

An anti-air missile can be fooled by those two. But what about one with literal eyes? One that can go "lol fuck you, I'm not dumb" and bypass all that to land a 99.99% hit on their targets?

Blacklight and Red light ability to consume not just inorganic materials (like concrete wall) but actual electronics means that its not limited to "basic" stuffs.

It's capable of advanced stuffs, and shows that if Mercer actually put things together and realized that, he can just consume an entire city worth of people and roll out hundreds of biological tanks, fighters, and so on.

It's not just world-ending because "ooga booga zombies and shapeshifters". It's because he could single-handedly revolutionize warfare into one where he just need to feast on India or China's garbage mountain and turn them into anything and everything he could ever want to be.

You need to understand that Blacklight's ability to mimic even things like electronic devices shows just how much potential or even opportunities it opened for biomass.

Have you seen how electronics are manufactured, like those fancy Intel CPUs out of pure silicon?

Now do that with biomass, which can literally just be, you know, food waste? If Blacklight can mimic electronics like military radio, what stops it from making much more complicated devices like computers?

RTX 5090 out of Double Whoppers?

Hell, Mercer can just throw in biomass toward a factory and let them eat up all those machines and have them understand the layout, how it works, and recreate them with a handful of corpses.

That is, if he bothered to. Because with his biomass, he can just roll out any kind of hardware anytime he wants.
