Years back as a senior in high school I learned of a song titled, The Artist in the Ambulance, by a band named Thrice. The title itself intrigued me, let alone the actual song. I used to listen to it on repeat, I couldn't get it out of my head. I wanted to know the story behind the lyrics. Writing is something I have always been passionate about, and it has always been a goal of mine to take my writing, a comprise of things that I know and things that I don't know, and produce something out of it. Fifteen years later, The Artist in the Ambulance is still lodged in my brain, and so I thought it was time that I share my own story inspired by the lyrics of the track. To this day, as the lyricist sings the line, My world goes black before I feel an angel steal me from the greedy jaws of death and chance and pull me in with steady hands they've given me a second chance, the artist in the ambulance, chills still cover my back. Here's my own rendition of the song one chapter at a time, I hope you all enjoy.
