can people start taking sexual assault and rape victims more seriously?
back in 2nd grade i got touched at school by someone i would not like to name, and i told a teacher. that teacher took me to the principal’s office and they sat my fucking assaulter right next to me. i told them what happened while trying to hold tears back. i was scared. i was scared they’d tell my parents, i was scared of what might’ve happened next. the person who assaulted me tried to deny everything, saying i was young and didn’t understand what i was talking about. so then the principal said it was an accident, gave me a popsicle and sent me back to class. my sexual assaulter got no punishment and still to this day he’s still walking free.
please take people seriously. i think about it to this day and it hurts. it’s not a joke.

@ARTISTROSES the long term affects also really suck. flinching when someone touches you, wearing baggy clothes, always looking to see if someone is staring at you (like your butt or boobs), being scared of getting intimate, getting triggered a lot, the nightmares. people, mostly “the boys”, don’t have a clue what happens to people when they get assaulted or raped. especially the aftermath. it’s really not a joke, thank you for speaking up on this.
