I'm about to start getting into a new character to read an x reader fanfic. This can only end in two ways, I don't like it and slam myself into a wall for even considering it; or I like it and I slam myself into the floor for not thinking of this sooner

I'm calling it the "Tied on a string" Effect

3 am rambling #65. because it really is 3 am

A lot of people really dislike x reader stories, as I've found from searching up the definition of it just to see what my friends might get if I mentioned it enough.

The reason I found mostly consisted of people not agreeing with what the reader character does in the stories. Saying something like: "I wouldn't do that". I thought about it for a while wondering why I'm totally fine with it

So now if people ask me how I can enjoy x readers, I can tell them this:

I like playing a character. I like going through an adventure as that character. I'm sure that if I had enough confidence, I would have loved to be an actress. Of course, I'd always find something the reader character does or says that I wouldn't agree on but that's what my imagination is for! If there was something I wanted that character to do, I could just imagine a scenario where they did! Where's the problem with a little bit of imagination

Plus, I like it because I can think of it as escaping to another dimension! Exploring a world different to our in little or big ways. Sure, that's basically fiction as a whole but the thing with that is that I have to see if I'll fall in love with the characters. At least in fanfics, I already love the characters and get more of them than what the original creators provided. It may not be canon but who cares?! It's fun either way!

I love Canon x Reader stories. I love that aspect of basically living another life with a character you've grown attached to but whenever I first start reading one with a character I just started absolutely loving, I feel this shame in the back of my head

But do you know what Canon x Reader I can read for the first time and never feel an ounce of shame at all?

          Parent! Canon x Child! Reader

I won't write any angst. At all.

It's not that I hate angst. I'd probably read some angsty stuff once in a while but it'd be out of curiosity. I'm the kind of person who reads to escape from real world angst and that sentence is probably the angstiest thing you'll get out of me. If I'm reading something, I would read the fluffiest or most exciting thing I could find.

I also can't write smut but that's a whole other thing
