It's often the littlest things in this world that truly impact us, that we keep with us, that bring us together, and in turn, they become monumental and all encompassing; having the power to inspire ingenuity like this world has never before seen. One of those things is the written word: it has the power to delight, to cause sadness, inspire tears, rage, passion, laughter, and, ultimately, friendship. And vital to it's survival is me and you, laboriously and devoutly striking the computer keys, consuming copious amount of your favourite drink. It allows growth and births civility; humbles us, satiates us, soothes us, and at the same time, relies on us to hone it with utmost care and to encourage others to step into the world where the world itself is changed, twisted, inspected, wrung out, and turned in on itself.
Frivolity, for all it's less than stellar reputations, is a requirement for even the most somber of tales, and in effect, is born of us as we hope the innocuous reader will be rendered giddy with our witticisms and clever banter, whilst cringing in horror at our explicit renditions of brutal ugliness only a few words later.
There is a power in a story that can impact, and impart, a meaning, a feeling, an idea. But more, there is an unmatched power is being the harbinger of such dimensional experiences; after all, words are at too high a spectrum to clash with swords. To be charged with such a power, to wield it, is as great a responsibility as it is an honour and an enjoyment. Clandestine is the skill and yet so available and made so to the mercy of the beholders. How fickle the complexities of this world are.
For all my flowery words, I am but a humble no one in this vast earth, in this vast intrigue that is the internet, but I hope you share my passion for writing. For, as a wise man once said, "everything that humans can imagine is a possibility in reality."
