hi valiant readers, i updated!!!
Irene stepped forward—barefoot, blooming, and unafraid.
She moved with the grace of a forest waking at dawn, each step coaxing life from the void beneath her. Vines curled around her ankles like loyal familiars. Her skin shimmered with a soft, earthen glow, and from it bloomed white roses and green flora—living tattoos that pulsed with breath.
And she stood between Ishe and Grauum.
Ishe turned, her white fire still flaring, her vines twitching with hunger.
“Irene,” she said, voice low. “Move.”
Irene did not.
“You don’t bloom through others, Ishe,” she said softly. “You bloom beside them.”
Ishe’s eyes narrowed.
“You sound like Still.”
“I remember Still,” Irene said, her voice tinged with something deeper—grief. “I remember what he did to you.”
Ishe flinched.
