          If you'd like to do some research about psychopathy on wikipedia or google, I think the story will make a lot more sense to you. The psychopathy was the entire point of the story, so I can't take it out. This is a satirical novel, remember, and it makes fun of and reprimands popular ideas of romance. What about the psychopathy confused you exactly? It really just means the person is unable to feel guilt. That leads to other personality traits such as being very manipulative and a pathological liar. Psychopaths are also very tuned in to other's emotions, so they know how to charm the pants of anyone in just a few minutes. This all underlies everything Hero does and serves as his innate motivation for the way he acts.
