Born February 22, 1957, in Shelby, North Carolina, Butaleon graduated in 1975 from Cherryville Senior High School, Cherryville, N. C. He enlisted in the Navy in February of ’76 as a Dental Technician and served duty in Adak, Alaska, Jacksonville, Florida, and aboard the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal CV-59 home ported in Mayport, Florida. Butaleon graduated from the University of Phoenix, October 23, 2009 with a Bachelor of Computer Science degree, Visual Communication and Graphic Design. A divorced father of two sons, Harvey Jr. DeVry University/Army National Guard and Cory, a student at Wingate University. Butaleon has a wide range of interest that include playing drums, writing novels, writing and recording song lyrics, reading, playing with his dog Scruppy, building web sites, and working on computers.
