the small creature hobbled over, dropping a massive fish onto the grass. an offering for the warrior of the group to get stronger. taking the handful of smaller fish for himself. no words needed to be said as it became a usual occurrence at this point.

            It was rare for Arðinn to even recognize the existence of the small creature in most situations, but he was never one to turn down a meal. The dragonborn knelt down and reached behind his neck, where he plucked a single scale, gold all over except the root, before handing it to the kobold. A reward for the creature's efforts. Then he took the fish and brought it to his fangs, head first.

ᚢᚦ// I'm thinking of making a couple AU versions of this Boi. One is gonna be the paladin version that is all good and tries his best to make a path of Redemption for everyone. Literally would take a bullet for a stranger. 
          
          The other is the oath breaker that fulfills the prophecy, kills his clan and builds a new one from its corpse where he rules with an iron fist.

He didn't pull at the gems, simply inspecting this new mode of harm. "This is also that 'Ark-feend' doing this? Skíter..." He was found once again completely unsure of what action to take next.

            He let out a shuddered breath and tightened his hold on her. He chocked on his own pain, his mind and body unsure of how to process it. Thin trails of gold were left on his scales where the viscous grief had traveled. He closed his eyes and stayed there, his tail twisting around hers. He wanted to say so much, but he physically could not bring out so much as a word. It would be too much.
