In 2009, my appendix nearly killed me. I went through 15 months of pain and rolled the dice on a surgery to start reclaiming some form of life. After life stabilized, I decided not to wait for the perfect time to start writing books, so in 2014 I released the first two in my fairy tale/steampunk series, The Yellow Hoods, and my author life began.
In 2018, with 11 books indie published, life changed but for different reasons. I came off the very high levels of asthma medication I'd been on since the appendix situation and went back to work after a three and a half years.
With a wonderful family, a terrific spouse, and leading a product startup, all the elements around me, and inside me, were different than when I'd been writing before. I've stopped and started projects since then, unable to punch through an invisible inner-wall. I think now, finally, I have broken through.
I share preview chapters of works I am working on, and sample chapters of books that I've published. I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and live by the mantra: be the mentor you wish you'd had.
