Today, I realized I loved someone because the thought of hurting them made me cry. A new person added to the list of those I love, I understand now that to truly love someone, your pain and your joy is theirs and vice versa. You cannot truly love someone, and hurt them, especially repeatedly and knowingly. And if you do hurt them, there is perhaps something wrong with your ego, perception, or understanding of what love truly is.
