Dumb plot idea that I just thought of:
          
          A hikigomori/chronically online girly is browsing through paranormal encounter forums, only to discover a picture from her town that looks a little too believable. The figure in the images holds an uncanny resemblance to one of the shows/games she watches as escapism. Going to investigate, she gets led on a trail that eventually leads her to find the very comfort character that has been keeping her going. But they're real. In her universe. 
          
          (Lmk if you think I should continue this)

Sofi, before we graduate, I just wanted to thank you for being my friend these past few years. You have no idea how much I love and cherish you even when I do the stupidest things. I really don't deserve someone like you. For a while it was you that brought me motivation to get up and go through my long ass classes. Even if you weren't trying to. Almost immediately, I felt right at home with you and that feeling continues to this day.
