Well, it finally happened, ‘Hiccup the Night Fury’ has reached 100k total views across 67 parts. Now, this doesn’t mean that 100k people have read this. At the time of this writing, 5.78k people have made it through ‘Sneak Peak’ while 379 have made it all the way through. ‘Dawn’, the first of the new chapters, has 1.43k views.
When you look at it this way, it doesn’t seem like a lot, especially after 4 years. However, to me, it is a lot. I never expected this much attention to this story. There is even a possibility of a translation into Portuguese (I think), that is if my month late response didn’t scare him away. (Sorry, I didn’t see it until then.)
I started this story in July of 2016 after waking up from a dream. July 13, I think. This dream is where the events of ‘Sneak Peak’ came from. After writing that down, the first 16 chapters came slowly. It didn't help that I didn’t have much of a plan. A ‘Bad Case of Mildew’ was finally written and immediately added on August 20th.
After that, I essentially disappeared. It wasn't until January 11th 2019 at 11:11pm that I finally updated the first of the new chapters, appropriately titled ‘Dawn’. After this rebirth, likely stirred by the ‘My Roommate is a Cat’ anime, the rest of the chapters came much quicker, with a triple update on some days. I still only had fragments of a plan and a general direction with required events.
If you have made it this far, I apologize for making you sit through my ramblings. Thank you again for your reads and read on. I will see you again on the next update. And to @constructbots14, I wish you luck with the translation. That’s all for now. See you all later.
