This is my fan clan for avatar!!!
They are called the Merakami and they are a mix of water and jungle tribes. Hundreds of years ago they were two different tribes, one by the sea and one in the jungle. There was a terrible storm that wreaked havoc on both their homes, the water tribe being forced inland because of rains, the jungle tribe being forced towards the sea because their tree was struck by longhand burned down. Both Olo’eyktan and Tsahik were killed. The two tribes met at the base of a mountain, originally with hostility but eventually they got along. A male and female were chosen to be the new leaders, male from the jungle and female from the sea. They scaled the mountain to find it was a volcano, but a dead one.
Over time, the tribe dug pathways in the rock, eventually reaching the bottom where there was a large underground lake and rivers, and up on the bank sat a soul tree blooming without light to grow it.
The Merakami use bridges to span the diameter of the volcano, eventually learning to dive off them into the lake below, this along with scaling the inner walls of the volcano are taught at a very young age. They sleep in pods hanging from some of the bridges, and have storage rooms carved into the rock.
They love to sing and dance, singing used as their form of long distance communication. Their voices carry very far. Most of them have peacock green skin with dark blue stripes and bright bioluminescence. They are strong enough to climb, yet have the flat arms and tails to swim.
They are greatly feared in battle, legends calling them ghosts and terrors. They use camouflage and are very good at it, hence the ghost name. One could be standing beside you and you wouldn’t know till they moved. They also use fear tactics when fighting, like whistles that sound like screams (iykyk). They have learned about hallucinogens and use them against the enemy in battle, having built an immunity over time.
