I never thought I'd find myself going against my word. Yes, I did say I was gonna commit to Persona. But the mind is such a strange thing. One moment you're thinking about what you're gonna do on one thing, and then it just suddenly pops up something entirely new that makes you feel compelled to do it.
That's what I had experienced. As I thought about ways of refining and continuing "Bloodline", I immediately thought of how much I disliked Darling in the Franxx, which compelled me to make my take on it into existence. The idea of what Franxx came to be now is what intrigued me so much to write, and it's partly in thanks to a moment of self-reflection combined with the character ideas I've been developing for Bloodline.
Franxx also becomes my testbed in what is basically my "metamorphosis" into going original. Persona was mostly interpreting what was already there in the series, and Franxx was mostly rewriting everything but the name, characters, and design.
Another thing is that Bloodline and Franxx are, in my opinion, one of the heaviest, moody, and psychologically intense works that I have come up with. I'm a sucker for something that's dark. And I have so many ambitions in both works, it gets overwhelming sometimes because you shift focus from one either the two. But I will admit: Bloodline hasn't seen any development since February, because in that time, I was constructing Franxx.
Make no mistake, though, Bloodline isn't shelved, and so are the rest. But I can't deny to myself that I yearn to explore more, purely to prove to myself that I can write a fanfic without resorting to some kind of crossover or AUs. I find it very particularly challenging just to write self-contained stories that could match with what the original series has established, but still make your own spin to it.
We all start somewhere. I know 50 Shades started as a Twilight fic.
This is mine. And I hope you all enjoy it when I manage to finish writing these two books.
Peace!

P.S. No shade to everyone else who thrives on making AUs and crossovers. I think these guys carry the entire concept of fanfiction to their backs.
