Writing your favorite character's death scene at 3 am hits different. Like I'm actually tearing up rn?

It’s a major spoiler for my second book so I can’t say :(

Question: I’m thinking of turning my series into a trilogy instead of two books, should I? As of today, the first act is completely finished. If so, I can start working on an actual cover and start on the second book. If not, the first book will be twice the size (50k words for reference, so about 120k+) but then the Cosmic Creation Series will be back to a WIP instead of 1/3 finished.

          What do you think?

Thanks for the clarification! I think I messed up what I was saying a bit: the trilogy I was referring to is three books about a single character, whereas the series I’m creating will feature several books about different MC’s all in the same world. I really appreciate your help though, I learned something new today :D

@AkumuIsSleepy when going from a single book to two, is a duology, then adding one would make it a trilogy, a series is 3+, typically. Just trying to help a fellow writer get the idea. A duology is plenty if you feel you can yell it all in two books, but.if you really think.the third needs to be there, then make it a trilogy.
