Does anyone know a word I could use instead of "dreadlocks"? I'm writing a black character and saw that a lot of black people don't agree with the word since it was used by settlers to describe their hair as "dirty" and "dreadful." I would like to avoid using the word from now on, but my google search didn't show all that many results for what to call it instead aside from "locks." Do any of you know more positive names for the style?
Might be updating more soon. I’m feeling a bit better about my writing after a long spell of writer’s block. I’m not sure about continuing my old books though, they feel so distant to me now since it’s been such a long time. They’re not the best I can do anymore. I guess we’ll have to see?

I was planning on it and had begun a rewrite, but my brain has been weird with writing for a few years (my update schedule is in shambles lol) so I have no solid idea on whether or not I’ll continue it. Good news though is that I’m slowly building up a habit of writing daily, so I may be able to return to updating in general :>
