Marin’s Summer is now complete.

Marin’s story was never meant to be easy.
It was meant to be honest.

Thank you to everyone who followed her through the heat, the hunger, and the choices that didn’t always come with clean edges. This was a season about agency, consequence, and the quiet ways we change when no one is watching.

If you’ve been waiting to binge it all the way through—now’s your moment.

And if Marin stayed with you…
this isn’t the last time you’ll see her.

She lives inside the world of Exposure.

Author’s Note to Readers:

I just want to pause for a moment and say thank you.

Because of your support, reads, votes, and encouragement, Marin’s Summer has made it into Round Two of the Open Novella Contest, and I’m honestly both humbled and incredibly excited. Stories only travel as far as the readers who carry them, and seeing Marin’s journey resonate with so many of you means more than I can properly put into words.

To celebrate the milestone and say thank you for being here, I’m sharing the entire first act of the novella today so you can experience Marin’s arrival in Sydney and the beginning of what becomes a very complicated summer.

This story started as a simple idea about what happens when someone stops performing the life they think they’re supposed to live. But like all good summer holidays, Marin’s time in Sydney quickly becomes something far more unpredictable.

Thank you for reading, for commenting, for sharing your reactions, and for being part of this journey. I’m excited to keep unfolding Marin’s summer with all of you.

Hi everyone

I’ve just added four new chapters to The Weight of Feathers — Chapters 9 through 12 are now live.

This stretch of the story sits with distance, restraint, and care. It slows down on purpose, letting moments breathe and relationships shift without being forced. These chapters matter not because of what happens loudly, but because of what changes quietly.

Thank you for reading with patience and presence. I’m grateful you’re here for this part of the journey.

Thanks for the follow. I checked out the first chapter a bit and its written with care that I admire. If you are interested, we can do a reading exchange. Let me know.

@chasingshadowshome I’m really glad I started reading — the opening has a quiet confidence to it, and Meera feels thoughtfully drawn. I appreciate the care in your writing and look forward to following these characters as their journey unfolds.

Hi.

I’ve just added the next four chapters of Before Flight.

These chapters live a little closer to the edges — school hallways, old friendships, family gravity, and the quiet things Alex keeps for herself. There’s nothing loud here, but something shifts.

If you’ve been reading, thank you for staying.
If you’re just finding the story, you’re early — and that’s kind of the point.

          I’ll be back soon.

Some stories don’t begin with action.
          They begin with texture.

Before Flight starts in the quiet moments—soft rooms, half-awake mornings, the things we notice when we’re paying attention instead of bracing ourselves.

If you’ve read the first four chapters, thank you for being gentle with Alex as she takes shape. This part of the story is about learning who she is before anything changes.

          More is coming soon.
Until then, notice the soft things.

          — Alex

Hi.

          Before Flight is live now.

This story moves slowly on purpose. It’s about noticing small things, surviving quietly, and the space before something changes you.

I’ll be adding to it weekly.

Thank you for being here — even if you’re just passing through.
