@Alexchaenz Absolutely :) If you are accessing the site through your computer the forums are a great way to meet other authors. From my experience the only way to build a following is to make friends with other authors. The readers are out there, but your work has to be visible for them to find it. There are also advise threads on it in the forums.
If you are on your phone, the best way to get your name out there is to read other authors work (preferably authors who write something simillar to you) And vote and comment (better if you find stories you really like.) Often the authors don't read back, but some of their followers may.
