I think people who call Sora VA's or Dewey queerbaiters over the fact they arent dating irl need to look up the definition of queerbait:
The core reason why they aren't queerbait, however, is due to the fact the characters actually dated and weren't just for marketing purposes. The point of queerbaiting is that it is simply just a marketing tactic to appeal to their queer audience, and a way to pull in fans from them while also sustaining their homophobic viewer base and never really making any queer couples canon, just hinting to it. The Squad explicitly voiced their support for the LGBTQ+ community, had multiple queer characters that weren't just "Look at how progressive we are!" (luca using they/them, soraxx dating, charli being bi and having the bi flag on her avatar).
People confuse the IRL squad members with the characters, despite the several statements from Alex that they are characters, and the VAs aren't their characters. This is where they idea the squad members, specifically Dewey & Sora's VA, are 'queerbaiters' comes from. I think they made a couple references to them meeting, but again thats how they met, there have been little ideas beyond irl videos to them being a couple, and they are still playing characters in those irl videos. I've seen so much labelled as 'queerbait' in media while actual queerbait slips under the radar. Please learn your definitions.
