Hi! Do you mind my asking what's a UX researcher? I'm a social scientist by training as well (clinical psy), so just curious :)

Don’t mind at all! I did my theses around the efficacy of clinical psychology! But my focus was social psych. A UX researcher conducts research on products and services to ensure they are solving actual problems in the world and that they are solving them in a way that makes sense for those who experiencing them. Basically, we try to understand customers or target customers of a product/service as deeply as we can do that we solve their problems with some innovation.
