Not the greatest poems I’ve written, but wrote this while being maintaining my sober streak. Ah the good days!

          	Probably around November or so?

Am I clairvoyant because I composed a bunch of poems before my last and final breakup with my ex-girlfriend? Because this is exactly what is going on right now;

          And to my secret admirer, thank you for your support; I will post the poems from this book without debating whether they are good or not; what they said was "it's you, your days, your subconscious mind, it's you," and that "it's really dangerous to put it out there like that," but I suppose that's the curse of being a good writer;

Shapelessness on The Half-Burnt Boy is about two lesbian lovers who love one another as parallel lines, to be loved from afar, and the love will never last if they touch.

          Remember all sorts of love is love, even if they aren’t destined to love or to be together …

This is not inherently a lesbian poem, but as a lesbian writer/poet who is quite reclusive, this prompt talks about "The crows asleep in your chest." Crows represent death approaching a person's life, and this lady has befriended a couple of crows, so this poem revolves around animal love and facing death as an introverted person with few loved ones and friends.

          I've found that playing with challenging prompts produces beautiful poems, so feel free to comment on Wattpad if you enjoyed it.

Finally, I'm delighted to share the poem that inspired the title of this anthology. Many people might assume it's not a lesbian poetry book because of the title, but "don't judge a book by its cover," as the saying goes. What does lesbian poetry really mean? Is it all about making women fall in love with eachother? What about being a lesbian in the first place?

          As a lesbian writer who only writes about making love to women and weaving poetry through lesbian experiences of a person of colour, this prompt was difficult to write.

          It was difficult at first because it revolved around a boy, which lesbians aren't interested in or attracted to. However, after extensive research, I discovered that this could be the ideal application of this poem.

          There are a few of trigger warnings in this: This is a conversation between a sexual abuse survivor and a boy who represents a rapist.

          As a CSA victim, I believe that my younger self had the strength to speak up, but she grew up, and writing may aid in the battle against injustice.

          I hope you all enjoy this with a nice cup of tea ☕️
