I have a question for y'all, old followers and new, although this will most definitely impact my older readers a bit more prevalently. Considering the last few years (going on two now without significant change) of my writing being so stagnant to the point of almost being dead in the water, I am having to confront many self-doubts and inadequacies in myself. My mental health is at an all time low, somehow worse than it was even before, but slowly, methodically, given the massive support network I most blessedly possess, I am doing my best to ressurect myself. I am not dead, I am not without fresh ideas, but what I lack is confidence, in being assured in my own skills and my ingenuity to convey them to the level I allow myself to express. I am a perfectionist, and nothing short of perfection by my own standards is worthy of you guys' perusal. You must, absolutely must, have my best, and I have been without my best for a long time. I seek not your approval, but your enjoyment.
Which leads me to this long-winded question:
If I were to 'rewrite' Family from Beyond the Stars, revamping and revitalizing it with even more detail, world-building, character development, graphics, visuals, and scenes (both old and new), would this be something my beloved followers would be interested in as I work towards dusting off my keyboard?
This is an honest query. And before anyone asks, yes there will be changes to how I present and allow my material to be read. I am fully aware this is already a published novel, but this would be more along the lines of a LOTR extended version / Director's cut, as there were so many ideas I did not give myself the time to fully flesh out while writing this beloved story. Now, I have nothing but time, and I want to revive this story if you all similarly want to see it. Kenny and Nova are...precious to me, just as I do not doubt they are to you as well. Please let me know.
