How could a good day end in such a horrible way?
I have gotten into the Energon Universe by Skybound, let me just say, It was beautifully well-written. Void Rivals for me personally was 4th for me. Don’t get me wrong, I love the series, but it doesn’t feel as connected to Transformers as it does with Duke and Cobra Commander. And I know it was because of Solilla and Darak that Jetfire reactivated the Autobots ans Decepticons. Duke is Third for me, love how his PTSD of Starscream is driving him foward. Cobra Commander is 2nd because I love how terrifying and well written he is. And of course Transformers is #1 and there is a reason why it was one of the top 10 comics of the Year in 2023. And can’t wait for Destro and Scarlett Mini-Series.
But as to why this Great Day was stripped of it’s beauty? I’m sorry to say but, Akira Toriyama, the Creator of Dragon Ball has passed away. When I first saw it at 8:57 Pm, my heart skipped a beat and I felt my chest heavy. I searched his name to hope that this was false, but met with the harsh reality of the truth. When I was just a kid, I use to wake up every Saturday Morning and watch Dragon Ball Z Kai with my 2 Older Sisters (the 2nd sister wasn’t a fan of anime) and my dad. Dragon Ball was my introduction to the world of Anime. I played the games and didn’t understand the lore until I played DBZ: Ultimate Tenkaichi, while it may have been horrible, I enjoyed it and learn the story. Words alone cannot express how greatful I am for Akira for making my childhood and Goku for being one of my childhood heroes, may he join Kazuki Takahashi, the creator of Yu-Gi-Oh, Derrick J. Wyatt, art creator of Transformers: Animated, Teen Titans (2004) and those that made my childhood that tragically passed on as well. Thank you Akira Toriyama, thank you for everything you have done for us all. May you rest in peace and until we meet again.
