Hello, dear Wattpad Support Team and Ambassadors,
I am writing this message first and foremost to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the empathy and wonderful help you provided by granting me a special exception for my novel. I wanted to take the time to tell you the true story behind what happened, because I believe you deserve to know the deep impact your help has had on my life.
For me, this story is not just another book. I started writing it during an extremely dark and difficult time, seeking a refuge to forget my pain and heal. Every single one of these 91,000 words represents a tear, a sigh, and a step toward my personal growth. Participating in this year's Wattys meant closing that cycle, which is why I put all my strength into getting the manuscript ready.
However, fate put me through very tough trials along the way.
First, I went through the massive stress of my computer completely burning out. Since my cell phone is quite old and didn't have the capacity, I had to ask for help; in fact, I am writing this to you from a friend's house, fighting from her computer so my dream wouldn't die.
On top of that, I had horrible issues with my internet connection. Despite everything, I managed to push forward and scheduled the automatic publication of the remaining chapters for July 3rd, making sure everything would be out on time. Unfortunately, the platform let me down; the system failed and did not publish the chapters as it was supposed to, leaving them saved as drafts.
To make matters worse, on July 4th, right the day after that publication failure, my cousin took my device and accidentally pressed the submit button on the entry form ahead of time. The form was submitted declaring that the work had 42 chapters, but due to the scheduling and internet issues, only 23 were publicly visible on the platform.
