Zephyr looked to her side as she grabbed at the knife from the side of the tree, frowning as she wrenched it out from the trees bark. She looked over at her target, noticing she had missed it by a few mere millimeters. She was annoyed, heavily so. She hated not being able to do things perfectly.

Coming from a family of wolf shifters, where she was the only girl she always had the need to prove herself to her father and brothers. She didn't ever want anyone to perceive her as weak just because she was female. She hated people who thought that she couldn't do something because she was a female.

She was running this back just fine...well, with the help of Daniel of course. She grabbed the other knives from the tree before stepping back and walking over to the starting point. She was here, alone at night practicing her night vision and endurance to the icy cold.

She was stubborn like that, always pushing herself harder and harder until she achieved any sort of results. She was never happy with anything other than the best. She was extremely competitive, she knew that but she couldn't help it. It was a streak that ran strong within the Valentine family.

She let out a slow breath as she flicked her wrist forward watching as the knife sailed towards the tree only to impale it a mere few millimeters away from her target. She threw her knife down in frustration, narrowly missing her feet.

She sighed as she tried to see through the light snow flaking down onto the ground. She needed to focus on the target if she was going too get anywhere with this. No one knew she was here, in the middle of the bloody cold night, probably going to end up with frost bite with the way she was carrying on.

Zephyr looked up Daniel as he ran his fingers through her hair lightly and a small smile tugged at her lips. She said nothing as she heard him speak, her body shivering slightly to ward of the cold. She glanced up at him, her hands reaching up to lightly brush along his jaw as she tilted her head to the side.

She didn't often engage in physical contact with him out in the open as she knew he didn't like it. "You may sleep as long as you like, you are a lion after all," she told him before she turned away from him, her hands dropping softly to her sides as she stretched out her hands and looked at her dagger upon the floor.

"I will master it, you know I will," she stated, that temper of hers flaring up again before she forced herself to suck in a deep breath. She ran her fingers down over her legs, shivering but merely shaking off the cold. Zephyr was the type of person to rather suffer in silence to admit that she was ever defeated or wrong.

She knew it was something she had to work on but she never wanted people to see her weakness. She knew Daniel saw it all the time but that was because he was her mate, to her pack she could not display weakness. She rolled her shoulders lightly and shook her head feeling her lips go numb.

"What do you propose I try next?" she asked him with a slight tilt of her head as she played with her fingers lightly. "The bow and arrow?" she asked him with a raised brow, a small cheeky smile tugging at her lips as she glanced at his bow and arrow.

Zephyr could hear the light wavers in the air, she could sense her mate as he walked as silently as he could towards her. If she weren't her mate she knew she would never have a chance at hearing him coming but since she was connected to him she always would have that little sixth sense.

She frowned as she felt the whizzing of the arrow pass by her and land in the tree. She turned around to glare up at him, raising her brows at him feeling her temper flaring as she got angry at him calling her frustrated. She threw her knife right at the tree, not even caring that it split his arrow in half.

She turned to look at him with half a smile on her face. "Show off," she muttered as she stood next to him, feeling the heat from his body emitting right onto hers. She knew he wouldn't touch her unless he really wanted too. He was like that but she eventually got used to it.

She looked over at him, her breath coming out in a plume of white smoke. "What are you doing here?" she asked him as she ran her hands through her hair, feeling the little edges of frost melt down into it. She shook her head about, her wild mane of hair swishing with her movements.

"Six hours, again," she stated as she rolled her shoulders walking to the tree to grab her daggers. She grabbed the two of them and walked back towards him. "Teach me," she stated simply as she rocked back and forth on her feet, staring up at him through the ice biting wind.

Deep in the forest, there was a beautiful waterfall which was hidden from the world. This magnificent place was Arthur's secret retreat. It was an escape from the world, his problems, and his purposeless responsibilities.
When Arthur was the age of seven, his older brother Archer, brought him here, introducing the little pup to the beautiful place. However, Arthur remembered his older brother telling him, 'Arthur. You can't tell a single soul about this place, understood?'. After, him and his brother would either relax, or train here.

Though, after his father and mother lost their life in the fire, and his brother's strange disappearance. Arthur stopped, and later, he had forgotten about his brother's and his sacred place. When one morning, at the age of fifteen, he was wandering the forest, he heard the familiar sound of a deafening roar of water. The good-looking teenager started approaching the sound, getting closer and closer. It was like the place was screaming his name, luring him closer. Once Arthur crosses the unstable bridge, and brushes through the curtain of lush, green leaves. The Devereux stood on the rocks, facing the place he forgot. Now, whenever Arthur is free, he'll escape to this great place. Alone. For the reason that, a promise is a promise.

"This is great." Arthur said, a small sigh emitting from his lips. he stood underneath the ice cold water. One, because it was relaxing. Two, because the water beating down on his skin provided him with great pleasure. Indeed, Mister Arthur Devereux was nude. Despite that, the rebellious twenty-one year old didn't seem to care.

"Hmm, whoever sees me in the nude should consider themselves fortunate." Arthur muttered, his signature smirk on his face. Yes, Arthur was an arrogant prick, and he wasn't afraid to admit it.
