DID is formerly known as multiple personality disorder but DID is actually a dissociative disorder caused by trauma that effects the way the human brain develops. In other words, we had a horrible childhood that wouldn't let us become one solidly formed person, so we are now a conglomerate of 100+ people with different genders, sexualities, hobbies, memories, and opinions, living in one body. all things that make up much more than simply your personality haha.
