I started writing this book with a donut-scented pen in a spiral notebook purchased in a frenzy at a Barnes & Noble in North Myrtle Beach, SC. You see, I was on vacation and had just decided that I would succumb to teenage girls' pleas for me to read The Twilight series. I had no desire to, really. I thought I was above it all. I wasn't, though. I bought the first in the series, and once I had read the first few pages, I was hooked. It wasn't the writing that sucked me in, though; it was the story, the characters, the setting. Every time I opened the book, I was transported to that world, the one where an alternate reality not only existed but was so vivid in my mind. I spent a lot of my time during that vacation envious...jealous that Stephanie Meyer had created that world...the most incredible love triangle, the most engaging plot and intriguing characters. At some point that week, I decided I had to try my hand at it too. I knew I wasn't the best writer. But I thought there was a slim chance that I had a story to tell too. So...on my way to the bookstore with a sick infant, the entire trilogy appeared in my head, and I knew it had to be written. Here it is...one chapter at a time.
