American English is my first language, and I'm also proficient in legal writing. 

I've been a voracious reader since I first learned to read, so spelling and grammatical errors figuratively (NOT literally) jump from the page. It's jarring to me, and interrupts the flow of a piece for me. 

I figured that rather than feeling bad about leaving some corrections in the comments,  I'll embrace my role as the Grammar Police to protect and serve the English language.
