I have to rant..........I read a hell of a lot of books here on Wattpad and if I love the book I vote and Comment when I can, even though most of the time they are the really popular books. On top of that most people on Wattpad are writers trying to get out there. So I'm going to guess about 75% of authors on here get a few views and that's it. I'm thankful because I've gotten some attention but not nearly enough to support my books as an author. Which is all I want from life. So here's the part that pisses me off. There are a lot of popular authors and only a few I have met who interact and try to help loyal readers out. And then the rest of them try and do these f^cking contests where they say they will promote you. Oh but wait, you have to have a minimum of 1000 followers or like 25,000 reads on your last posted chapter. Like what in the actual f*ck? At that point you already have enough of a following! Your only promoting those authors who are already doing well. What about authors who get no following. Some perspective, I have 11,000 reads combined and probably an average of 150 reads a chapter. I have less than 100 followers. But I work damn hard to produce a book. And then most of the authors who I look up too won't even bother to help me. It's so frustrating. I feel like these authors aren't willing to help the little guy and like my writing is my heart and soul. It hurts to know that so many of these popular authors aren't even willing to help. I'd never ask for much but if your going to do a damn contest to 'promote followers' then promote the little guys too.
