It looks like I’m not writing fast enough, the ranking keeps jumping up and down by 200+ points ... I don’t get how this algorithm works, lol. To be honest I wasn’t even expecting to rank at all until I got closer to being finished so thanks all for the support (Dreaming of Wormholes highest place #300 in sci-fi so far, amazingly!) In any case I’m a bit delayed getting the sixth chapter out, so I’ll try to get 2 published within the next week.

Also, big thank you to GMTSchuilling and others for helpful comments. I’ve gotten so used to writing business plans and corporate presentations that narrative has become harder than it used to be.

Hey everyone, I really appreciate all the follows and votes for my mediocre story! I've also really enjoyed everything I've read so far on the site since joining. There is a wealth of creativity here and it's really cool. It seems like this site may actually do the trick and get me to finish something after all! Now I'm second guessing whether or not I should have led with a different story which I have developed a bit more and has some more interesting story arcs, rather than this one that may ride the line of being stereotypical or cliché. I guess it just means I need to finish this one faster, and then also try to generate interest through the characters' idiosyncrasies.

In any case, please don't hesitate to provide grammatical or editorial feedback if you see it! Nothing that I'm publishing is in any kind of finished state, and I have no problem with criticism.

Also, I feel that I need to re-do my cover, and possibly change the title. I don't think I've published enough for readers to have a sense of what the title should be, but if anything occurs to you, I'm happy to hear it.

In case you're interested, the next story to publish (of which I do have a full first draft of a screenplay written already) will be a surreal story of magic and science set in the near future:

Marcus is obsessed with the impossible goal of absorbing every bit of human knowledge. As he progresses further in his mission, he finds that reality appears to be taunting him by changing the rules of the game as his world breaks down into an unpredictable entanglement of magic and irrationality. Forest gnomes, sentient robots, murder investigations, and alternate dimensions intersect in this small rural town -- and yet the townspeople themselves may be even more difficult to understand.

Heya! Thank you for the follow and congratulations on winning that award! I hope you enjoy my works and I look forward to reading some of yours

PatrickStormes

@PatrickStormes I like that! Also, thank you for clarifying that he won that award and not she

@PatrickStormes well at 48 years old he came out of nowhere with his debut novel and won the most coveted prize in the country. It’s a reminder that age means nothing but also his quote is a reminder that there is plenty of undiscovered talent around, including some that has never had much interest in being discovered.

@PatrickStormes haha! I just realized that was a quote. Regardless, I still offer you congratulations on those awards listed above. What do you find so inspiring about her?

@Tegan1311 Thanks, Cheryl! Hopefully Netflix picks up the show for season 3 since BBC America didn't renew it :(

Wattpad definitely is an interesting. I'm surprised I didn't find it before now. It has certainly given me a lot to read. I'm looking forward to reading your stories.
