my parents weren't supportive of me going for bs nursing actually for the reasons that i will be handling the thing that flows within a human body that goes through the heart and that's what brought me to look up for other potential career paths po and one of them was "psychiatrist" or "psychologist". isa pa pong problema yung kakulangan ng schools na pwedeng tumanggap ng bs nursing students lalo na po kapag public usapan kasi po either ang problema po nila ay tatanggap lang po sila ng mga students within who lives within the set vicinity or heavily limited slots lang po or hindi po nakapasa sa mga college entrance exams (cets). due to the last reason medyo napa-isip po talaga ako which is why i decided to take bs psychology kasi po most schools offer this naman din po. besides i need to have 2nd choice for my college course din po so this is nice to have.
another thing is my parents is not supportive with the whole medicinal degree because it is time and money consuming po. plus the fact that they're getting old and they want to see me (their youngest) to finish school po. in fact my eldest sibling finished their degree last year po. but then when i found out about the fact i wanted i to pursue bs psychology, they.then allowed me to pursue bs nursing but only until nursing. i didn't want to pursue that because i know for a fact that: (1) i'd be overworked, (2) i'd also be underpaid, (3) no proper support, (4) limited educational opportunities, and (5) we need more infrastructures.
if you're asking me, why not pursue veterinarian? i am not a fan of animals (like i am terrified of them due to past incidents).
