*New CHAPTER XXVII: Martyr*

          Excerpt:

One of the soldiers beside the king raised his crossbow and aimed directly at Anael. However, before he could fire, the king placed his hand on his arm and stopped him. The soldier looked at him in confusion, unable to understand that gesture.

*Nuevo CAPÍTULO XXVII: Mártir*

          Fragmento:

* New CHAPTER XXVI: Hell *

          Excerpt:

“—After all,” Robert murmured with a feigned smile as he slowly walked around Anael, “I still don’t believe you are a messenger of God, as you claim. I rather think you are… a demon, sent from hell to spread evil.”

He looked at him with morbid fascination, as if savoring every second of his suffering.

Anael broke down in tears, overcome by helplessness and pain. He lifted his gaze and, in the distance, saw Escarlet still lying on the ground, unconscious. His eyes filled with sorrow and guilt. He had failed… he had not been able to protect her. He could not save her.

Robert placed his foot on Anael’s head and pressed down without mercy.
Anael let out a heart-rending scream of pain.

“—Where is your God now?” Robert asked with contempt.

He let out a quiet chuckle and then abruptly withdrew his foot. He stepped away, turning his back on him, as if he did not even deserve his attention.

*Nuevo CAPÍTULO XXVI: Infierno*

          Fragmento:

Había fallado… no había podido protegerla. No pudo salvarla.

—New Chapter XXIV: Captives—

          Excerpt:

"Anael…" Ezequiel whispered, trying to remain calm. "I know you are upset, but you must calm down and think things through."

Anael ignored him completely. He turned around himself, shaking his head, overwhelmed by the desperation that consumed him.

Suddenly, in a burst of fury, he threw himself toward the wounded man and grabbed him violently by his clothes.

"You must have seen him!" Anael shouted, out of control. "What was he like? Where was he going?... Answer!"

The man trembled. The pain in his wounds intensified and fear invaded him, leaving him breathless and unable to utter a single word.

          "Enough, Anael!" Ezequiel exclaimed.
