okay so could you consider writing a story where Nika after her acl injury, during her rehab is invited by Geno to intern at UConn to help coach the guards, starting in the summer season of 2025 through the 25-26 college season. And she kinda finds she doesn't quite 'fit' socially hanging with the coaches ( because to them she's still to close to being a student athlete there) or with the students (because half of them are new since she left and those she played with have the bond of winning the championship together, which she painfully wasn't a part of ).
So she feels a little isolated and lonely. It turns out that Kaleigh kind of looked at her as a role model and is new as well so they bond as a player and coach, but things start to blur as they both fight the fact that they are developing feelings for each other that are not supposed to happen. At first Nika sees that she has things she can offer Kaleigh to up her game and finds her grounding as a coach in doing that and Kaleigh is more than eager to soak up everything the reigning UConn assists and defensive Queen has to offer. It's like a perfect match of coach and player, but then they catch feelings. Both know it's against the rules - crossing a line but their emotional connection trumps what's appropriate and they are determined to find a way to let their love grow during this year, even knowing that come the next May they are free to openly love each other. But love doesn't follow a calendar, it breaks out on its own timing and demands to be expressed not paused until it's safe.
