A dark, narrow street.
Verse novel
By Killer_lover14
Void of houses,
Of buildings,
Or people
No matter how fast I run
How hot I get
How hard I try to lose it,
The footsteps now,
More frightening to me,
Than my own fear.
Like a solider at war,
Being chased by the enemy,
I search for places to hide,
But there isn't any,
So I just keep running.
Then suddenly,
Like an unexpected break in the storm
The footsteps stop.
I glance behind me,
And there's nothing to see.
I stop and breathe. I sigh a relief.
Until I look in front of me
It's there. Right there.
"Fear controls you". It tells me,
In that moment my heart
Is like a bomb, ready to explode
I jumped myself awake,
Gasping for breath.
Feeling like I ran for miles.
Even if I was in my bed,
All night long...
