So like, everyone has been doing this so I’m just gonna do a little self promo. Here’s and excerpt from one of my upcoming works of fan fiction. Enjoy
To say Hotaru was devastated is an understatement. She was far beyond that point of sadness, due to the loss of her lover. They’d spent many summers together, longer for the others touch, love, only for it to be wasted on that tragic day.
Still on the ground, Hotaru gripped the kimono with all the strength she could summon, holding onto it for dear life, as it was the only thing she’d have left of Gin.
He warm tears wouldn’t dry, nothing could comfort her now other than the sound of his voice, which she could still hear whispering his last words in her head. Biting her lip hard enough to draw blood, Hotaru stood up, glaring in the direction the boy ran off in, knowing her anger was pointless. ‘Why’d he have to be such a kind spirit?’ She asked herself, a broken sob stuck in her throat as she clenched her fists around his kimono once again, just for reassurance that it was still there. “Why?” She yelled out, the agony present in her voice as she started to find it harder to breath air. ‘Is this what he meant? Is this why he didn’t want to get close?’ She questioned, once again to only herself. Falling onto her knees, her own kimono pulling in uncomfortable manners, she cried to herself, longer for him to come back, to tell her everything was alright. But everything wasn’t alright, nothing was. Nothing ever was.
It was only then that she came to a realization. Gin wasn’t made for her kind, for the human world. He was too good for her, for any human. That’s why she was left here alone, without him, because she wasn’t good enough for him.
