i just wanted to say this and get it out there, and move on:
like many other writers on this platform, we joined at a young age and wrote the weirdest, unrealistic stories ever. i am one of those many :)
i had storylines that made no sense, we’re wayyyyy too mature for my little mind, and if i tried to pitch them to a real publishing company, i would get laughed at and turned away.
i started writing on here at the age of 12. my stories were literally crap, and that’s expected from a 12 year old who hadn’t yet experienced anything, or realised the trauma she had encountered growing up between the ages of 12-15, my stories were mindless behaviour fan fictions, and surreal plot lines, they had no experience with.
i’m now 19 years old. i have refined my craft, i’ve gone through experiences, and i am able to write from the heart. i have self published a book of poetry about me, i write realistic stories, and i am currently writing my second poetry book, and have a plan to come back to story writing. I’VE GROWN!
i keep the shit stories up there to see my growth. to see how far i’ve come as a writer. it’s for me more than anyone else! i don’t need criticism - I’VE CRITICISED THEM MYSELF (believe me!!)
wattpad will always have my heart, but please please please do not stress over the stories that are unrealistic and confusing at times - they weren’t based off of real events :)
