I've unpublished Chesapeake Time for the time being. It's just not getting enough reads to be worth the work considering my current publishing schedule. Alas, I've got to go in favor of the books that earn my living.

I just found out that you're a retired Naval Officer! Salute! You have my respect, Ma'am! :D

AnnChristy

@StevenSteel Nope...not really. It is in Hampton Roads, and will have some local geography, but that's it. I mostly write books that aren't at all to do with the military...though it did creep in for the Between Life and Death series. This book is one that just doesn't fit my more commercial genre, so I'm putting it here for free so it doesn't sit on my hard drive. I had 90K words of outlines and maps and science...seemed a shame to waste it. :)

@StevenSteel Nice to meet you too! May I ask: does your story have anything to do with your experience in the Navy?

We're almost to launch day and I'm sooo nervous. Sure, I've published a bunch of books and people read and like them, but this is totally different. This is where I share AS I write. Completely nutso! I mean, there's a reason I have editors and proofers. :) Plus, I cull mercilessly from first to second draft, otherwise my books would be 200K words vice 70 or 100K words. In general, I write twice as many words as get published for each book. But, I won't do that here. I'll be culling as soon as I write.

This Wattpad experiment will be as new for me as it will for you. Me likey!

First chapters will go up this Wednesday and then each Friday afterwards. Hopefully, more than one chapter each week. Probably more, maybe much more. Not sure. Some weeks will likely be more productive than others, which is sort of like life, isn't it?

@AnnChristy Yep, Rick. Exactly so. Let's hope it goes well. Ann

@AnnChristy Good Luck. Can't wait to get started. This is new for me too. I normally like to immerse in a book and become one with the characters. This will be more like grazing. Read a bit, go read something else, come back in a week and read some more. So, we're on the adventure together. Rick

Starting in June, I'll be posting chapters to a new book, Chesapeake Time, here as I write them! Yep, as a thank you to readers and fans of my books, I'm going to do this and let you read it as it leaks out of my brain. First draft form...so there's that...but it will be yours first.

It's very different from my previous books, so be forewarned. It's not a YA book, though it does have a YA main character. It's more survival in a strange land than escape from dystopia. And there are no zombies...er...I mean in-betweeners or deaders.
