If Rhaenyra cries, suffers, grieves or shows any emotion she's called too weak and unfit to rule. If Rhaenyra snaps at people or closes off due to losing her children she's called too hysterical or too emotional. If Rhaenyra tries to show no emotion and starts becoming more cold and detached she's called a mad bitch or a monster.

She can NEVER win as a woman ruler. No matter what she does or how she acts she gets insulted and degraded left and right. No matter how "cruel" or "insane" they'll make her in the show or how much the writers will butcher her to push the "mad Targaryen queen" agenda, it's never gonna work on me. She can blow up King's Landing at this point and I'll still support her. I don't care.

@SebasChanUwU Complet de acord! Viserys did call Rhaenyra "his life's great joy" and she was known as "Viserys' little girl", so she was 100% his favourite but he ALSO loved his other children and Alicent (who was not a child-bride victim like the show made her). Viserys was awful to Rhaenyra too - forcing her to marry Laenor when Rhaenyra wanted to marry Daemon and Daemon asked Viserys for a divorce from Rhea to marry Rhaenyra in a proper way, but Viserys fucked them over.

M-am îndrăgostit de Rhaenyra de când aveam 12-13 ani și am citit nuvela "The Princess and The Queen", mai târziu încorporată în F&B. A girl who carries the weight of being the heir, burdened with politics and sexual rumours since she was 7, who lost almost all of her children, was shamed and attacked, and despite all she was still proud, stubborn, refused to bow and died with a bang.

But the way Rhaenyra has been treated by the fandom for the past 13 years makes my skin crawl. Greens fans calling her a whore or saying "she should have kept her legs closed", incels cheering at her death, Mysaria/Laena/Nettles stans saying "Daemon's one true love was not Rhaenyra, that was actually *add their self-insert fav*, he actually never loved that fat, ugly, mad Rhaenyra"; you know the woman he actually courted, was the first woman he ever asked to marry, murdered to marry her, disobeyed his brother, insulted Laena's memory and the Velaryons to marry, crowned with his own hands, commited Blood and Cheese for, fought for her throne and died for her... like I'M TIRED.

I think the showrunners never expected for Rhaenyra to be THAT adored by the general audience. They kept trying with the whole "you'll switch teams, you'll turn against Rhaenyra" during s1 and s2, which never happened despite how much they sanitized the Greens, so now they'll probably try to paint Rhaenyra as bad as possible, even with things that were the fault of her councilors, Mysaria or completely out of her control in the book.

@ AnnaFeodorovna I hate alicent glaze so much. Efectiv visul umed al patriarhatului (my opinnion)

@SebasChanUwU EXACT! "Dacă Rhaenyra era bărbat nimic din toate astea nu s-ar fi întâmplat" is exactly the point. Someone pointed out that the word "whore" is used 7 times to describe Rhaenyra, the most compared to any other female character in the book. Aemond can't stop talking about her "cunny" and her "woman's parts". Her value and the support she gained are measured by chronicles in how many men would still find her desirable since "she was a married woman, her body aged and thickened by six childbirths" (she was only 32). Alfred Broome literally cuts her BREAST to "rouse" Sunfyre to eat her. Her death is a literal femicide and it's so disgusting and disturbing how some people - luckily a minority - support it or cheer for it. She's an incredibly sympathetic character and by far the most tragic in F&B, despite any flaws she might have had.

Viserys was completely blind, ignorant and stupid. He adored Rhaenyra but was too complacent and idiotic and never knew to put his loser ass sons in their places. I won't even get into the Rhaena change but it's insane how they'll probably want to place Rhaenyra in the "evil stepmother" role, when that was always Alicent.

Peak comedy how in the past years certain subsections of people in the fandom were fighting for their lives over which of his children Daemon would have given Dark Sister to if he had lived longer... Only for him to give it to Rhaenyra sjkfghjv

AnnaFeodorovna

All the official accounts from everywhere (and random ones like the band Queen too) reporting about Rhaenyra's accession like it's some real life political event, oh the general public will never turn against her or buy the "mad queen" bs :3

AnnaFeodorovna

I may have my huge issues with parts of the writing and the script, but thank you Ryan Condal and Sara Hess for allowing Rhaenyra a body to mourn and hold for her dead child, when in the book she had none </3

@SebasChanUwU Ar fi fost un rege prea bun și Rhaenyra și Baela ar fi fost prea fericite, deci GRRM a trebuit să-l omoare în cel mai stupid mod cu putință (Joffrey too). Everyone misses him :'(

Andromache didn't say "The love of Hector's Andromache, that never dies" and Hector didn't say "But no one matters more to me than you. No pain that anyone in Troy will suffer, not even Hecuba or high king Priam, not even all my many noble brothers, who will be slaughtered by our enemies and fall amid the dust in days to come— no pain of theirs affects me more than yours" for y'all to be sidelining them and hail Penelope and Odysseus as the only couple who loved each other in classic literature btw.

          Don't piss me off :(

@Izuko-san I am as well! That movie looks so damn bland and not a single Greek in that whole cast like come on... Aparrently a woman like Andromache, who survives the murder of her entire family, her husband, her baby, the fall of the city she would have been queen of, rape, slavery, bearing 3 children to the son of the man who killed said people, murder plots from his jealous wife; to then become a free woman again, remarry, become queen and die of old age is not *checks notes* interesting enough for people like Nolan lol

Since Persephone is with her mama I want to say: Demeter best mythological mother ever!

"Pyrrhus was killed by the goddess Demeter because he had violated a temple of her daughter Persephone." ~ Dionysius of Halicarnassus

"Demeter vowed that she would never set foot on shining Olympos nor let fruit spring out of the earth until she saw with her own eyes her beloved daughter Persephone, she who is the most beautiful." ~ Homeric Hymn to Demeter

"Demeter crushed the nymph Minthe, whom the god Hades abandoned when he fell in love with Persephone and made her his wife and Queen. When the nymph in her jealousy claimed to be superior to her daughter, that she would try to win back the heart of the king and banish Persephone from his bed and his palace, the Queen's mother Demeter was furious and transformed her into mint." ~ Oppian, Halieutica

"The goddess Deo loved her beautiful daughter as fiercely as a lioness." ~ Claudian, De Raptu Proserpinae

"Many vases and reliefs suggest a different understanding of Hades from that of the hymn. Hades was generally depicted not as an abductor of Persephone but simply as her loving husband and consort; there are numerous portrayals of Demeter reconciled with Hades and blessing his union with her daughter." ~ Art and Ritual in The Long Journey Home, edited by Christine Downing

The way she warms up to Hades and defends their marriage only because he truly loves her daughter sjkfg. That's her beloved baby! In this house we do NOT tolerate Demeter slander! ❤️

          Bonus, Persephone's second mom Electra:

"There Demeter saw Electra, loving nurse of Persephone, best known among the old Nymphs of Ocean; she who loved Persephone as much as Demeter. It was she who, when Persephone had left her cradle, would bear her in her loving arms and bring the little girl to mighty Zeus to play on her father’s knee. She was her companion, her guardian and deemed her second mother." ~ Claudian, De Raptu Proserpinae

Persephone and her two mamas ♥️

AnnaFeodorovna

@SebasChanUwU I could NEVER! It's so sad because lately loving both Demeter and Hades and the relationships they both have with Persephone is a nightmare on the internet. It's either demonize Demeter or demonize Hades, when they both LOVED her so much :(
