So I want to apologize.
It shouldn’t be taking me this long to write Chapter 4. I have the outline of the story and have a good chunk of the scene at least drafted. I just need to push myself to finish drafting and then polish.
Granted, this week has been busy but I still don’t want to keep the people who did enjoy my first three chapters waiting too long.

@AoiUmi_97 Damn, I might be a bad influence. Post on your own schedule though, we can live with waiting for a chapter if you don't have much time, being busy is no joke. No need for a deadline, we're just cool with getting another chapter whenever. Good luck with your chapters!

After how many months, I finally published the first few chapters of Echoes of the Sea.
The chapters might not be perfect but hopefully you enjoy what I’ve got! Feel free to give me feedback on anything and I’ll be happy to adjust accordingly.

Now we just have to hope my perfectionism doesn’t get in the way of publishing them for too much longer!

I am going to make it my goal to start posting my story this month in honor of MerMay. I plan to have the first three chapters release at once and then go from there. These chapters are all drafted but I do want to go back and adjust them at least once before they’re ready.
I do have one question however. Which title do you think is better?

or
- Echoes from the Tide

I’m making some good progress on it. I’m hoping to have it out in time for MerMay at least. I have a few drafts done that I’ve shared with a few friends for proofreading. If you want, I could maybe try sending you those.

So update on my mermaid story titled Echoes of the Sea. I still want to do it but life and motivation has made me have to step away from it throughout the months. I have drafts of a few episodes done but they just haven’t been ready for publication yet. I’m also constantly rethinking my characters, story, and world. Nonetheless, I do intend to have my story on here and on Ao3 once the first few chapters lay a solid enough foundation.
Now I do have a question for all of you…..a risky one at that. I think my story would be enhanced if I have visuals alongside it but I struggle especially with digital art. An easy backup would be to make stuff with AI tools but I’m not sure if people would be comfortable with that and I’m not going to do it if that’s the case. So just let me know what you think and be honest. I at the very least want a way to showcase the character designs of the main trio.

Hey, glad to see you’re still working on the project! So I wouldn’t use AI for a few reasons, firstly, the readers aren’t going to like that, second, it’s AI. Enough said. I think you should use the AI as a reference instead. I also can’t draw without a reference, so it helps a lot to have one and it’ll build your art skills. I’d love a visual with your story and I know the readers will too.
And as far as your story goes, quality always over quantity. I’m always down to brainstorm ideas if you want, and it helps a lot to have a clear idea of how you want to end the story/the main message of the story. I’m hyped to read it, and I wish you the best on your writing journey!

Another option could be creating a Pinterest board. I’ve been doing that with my characters lately. Here’s an example of one of my characters https://pin.it/SW8LsZ5fC
