@TripleACommunity here are my answers to the interview!
1. I've always loved writing and creating stories, and I wanted to make a book that I would enjoy reading and relate to. That's why I made characters with as much representation as possible— I never found characters that were like me growing up, and I wanted to be that for someone else.
2. Like I said above, I like thinking that I can help create good representation for queer and neurodivergent people, and I love it whenever I can slip in a little reminder of that.
3. Hermes, because he's such a fun and chaotic character. I always enjoy writing him— he's one of my favorites.
4. Honestly I was mostly just going by what would be fun to write/read. One of my favorite details is that aliens can be a range of different colors, and I can play around with symbolism and what they represent story-wise. For example Avarus is the same shade of purple as the asexual flag, and also happens to be aroace.
5. I would probably pick monsters from the horror genre, and the feeling of resolution of the story from mystery. Monsters, because I just love everything about them. I chose the resolution from the mystery genre because it's one of the main reasons I like reading mystery. The feeling of all the pieces clicking together and everything suddenly making sense is amazing.
