@SissaRomanov :
Oh, hello! :D
There are certainly many good writers and stories here but I'm actually avoiding reading anything vaguely similar to the subject matter of my fictional story because I don't want to accidentally start copying anyone without realising it! By focusing purely on my characters and my own life experiences, I've started a series of adventure stories that occasionally touch upon some of the severe trauma I've experienced in life. That gives my stories a special quality, the main difficulty is getting people to read the first book. However, even though the British government won't help me find a publisher, I am determined to tell my story to the world.
However, Metronome (my life story) is only 10 pages long and won't take very long to read because it's basically a short film script. If you've been through something tough in your life then yes, it's difficult to open your heart to the world. I'm 34 years old and for the past 5 or 6 years I've been visiting schools here in England, personally telling kids how and why I stayed alive (with my hair shaved off so that they can see my operation scars) and that's really difficult. However, seeing the smiles of their faces when I tell and prove to them that anything is possible if you put your mind to it and that life is worth living, more than makes up for the mental pain.
If your curious, google search for Martin Hopley Brain Tumour and you'll get a few more stories about me! :) I enjoy getting into newspapers and on TV; I've also learned to speak, read and write average Japanese so I've managed to get myself into 3 different Japanese newspapers as well :D
Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading Metronome. It's the hardest thing I've ever written. I've got other stuff on my website:
