Friends!

At long, looooong, last, The Unfinished Wyrm is finished!*

And, as planned, with The End of Edith's story comes the end of Edith's time here.

On February 29, Books 2, 3, 4 and Drafting will be unpublished. Only the original Watty-winning version of The Purpose of Miss Shepley will remain.

But Arden, you may ask, what if I'm not done yet? What if I wanted to read it again???

First of all, omigosh, thank you so much, that's so flattering. Honestly. <3

But more to the point... Don't fret! You can still read Edith's story -- free and ad-free -- on Ream!

All you have to do is follow me. Simply go to reamstories.com/thatardenbrooks and click the big purple Follow button under my cartoon head. If you don't yet have a Ream account, the prompts will walk you through the rest!

I find myself somewhat at a loss for words, now -- turns out calling it a wrap is really quite something after six, often difficult, years. So I'll keep it simple and end as I always have:

Welcome to new followers and thank you, truly, so very much, for reading.

          	-- <3 AB

          	*This draft, anyway XD

@ivicaro1234567890 Hello! I do plan to publish TUW, yes, definitely! It's probably going to take a few more years before it's ready, though. In the meantime, you can still read the complete first draft free on Ream. Good to hear from you! – <3 AB

Chapter 30 (part 1 of 4) is up!

          And Edith is not amused.

Incredibly, this is the final chapter of The Reformations of Eadgyth, which is the final chapter of The Unfinished Wyrm!

I wish I could say I had some grand send-off planned, but the truth is 2023 has been a demanding year, and, as soon as I can manage it – which has been "not quite yet" for a solid two months now – I'm going on hiatus. The final three parts will post automatically, same Bat-time, same Bat-channel, and I'll be back in mid-January to call it a wrap.

          That's all from me tonight!

Best wishes to you and yours in the new year – and a glad midwinter to ye!

Chapter 26 (part 2 of 3) is up!

          And Edith hopes.

          And I never sent a follow-up after last week's delay! I had written a whole thing, and then forgot to hit Post or something. I dunno. ^_^;

We are nearly at the end of the Baelham Arc. The next chapter is the last chapter, and it's written and uploaded (though looking at it again, I see it is very, very rushed, and I might do some re-writing next week). It's another 3-parter, so that will take us through the end of October. I'll post a Revising write-up over in Drafting by early November, and then, incredibly, we'll begin the Happily Ever After arc!

In case you missed it, The Purpose of Miss Shepley and Fashioning Ethel Shaw are free to read again! FES is its own book once more, and the Interlude and Thank You! chapters have been restored.

And finally, in case you missed last week's news, I have been busy making a new home for Edith's story! Be sure to scroll to the very bottom of today's post to learn more.

I think that's all I have to say tonight... Look for the conclusion of Ch 26 by Friday, Oct 6!

As always, welcome to new followers and thank you for reading! Hope to talk to you all soon! (HINT)

Hey, all!

Just a heads up that this week's post is gonna run a few hours late because (1) Back to School Season doesn't quit and (2) I Have News.

Look for it in the next 4 to 5 hours, maybe. My apologies!

p.s. Good news. To be clear. The news is good.

Friends! I am delighted to announce September 22nd is the last day The Purpose of Miss Shepley (and Fashioning Ethel Shaw) will be a Paid story!

To those who have supported Edith this past year, you have my warmest thanks. <3

To those who have wanted to, now's your last chance!

And to those who have had The Purpose of Miss Shepley in their TBRs, wishing it were more affordable, the wait is almost over!

There is more to say, but my family's actually on vacation right now, so I'm gonna scoot. XD

As always -- but especially this past year! -- welcome and thanks for reading.

Chapter 22 (part 2 of 3) is up!

And Edith doesn't want to do this.

The new scheduling bot has been doing its job well, and I am SO delighted. However, I see that I posted the schedule wrong last week. ^_^; Obviously, Ch 21, pt 2 posted today, July 20, not on July 13. And the conclusion will go up July 27. Sorry for any confusion!

Chs 23 and 24 are already in the pipeline, and that will take us through the end of August, like so:

          Ch 23 pt 1 ~ Aug 3
          Ch 23 pt 2 ~ Aug 10
          Ch 24 pt 1 ~ Aug 17
          Ch 24 pt 2 ~ Aug 24
          Ch 24 pt 3 ~ Aug 31

This week, I'm wrapping up Ch 25. The last big hurdle (I hope?) is Ch 26, and that, incredibly, will be the end of Baelham arc!

That's all from me this week! I'll be taking August off, so if there are any issues, please send me a message!

As always, welcome to new followers and thanks for reading!

The conclusion of Chapter 21 is up!

          And Edith cannot obey.

Not much to report this week! I'm crawling forward on Ch 25. I made a Threads account. Eventually, I will reply to all your comments, I swear. Real soon now. But then I might go quiet for a while because it's summertime and I am so beyond burnt out and ~~~drum roll~~~ Wattpad has introduced a SCHEDULED POST feature! So I don't have to come push buttons every week to keep the story going! I CAN ACTUALLY TAKE A VACATION!!1!

          I could cry. I could.

So! I may or may not be here to announce it, but look for:

          Ch 22 pt 1 ~ Thurs July 06 5:30pm PDT
          Ch 22 pt 2 ~ Thurs July 13 5:30pm PDT
          Ch 22 pt 3 ~ Thurs July 20 5:30pm PDT

          And shoot me a message (here or on ig) if you want me to follow you on Threads! I don't followback randos, and I can't remember everyone's username. ^_^;

As always, welcome to new followers and thanks for reading!

Chapter 21 (part 2 of 3) is up!

          And Edith runs an errand.

This one comprises two sections, one of which was just a bit too short to post on its own. I'm very pleased to share that I successfully resisted the urge to stitch them together with filler and just let them be short!

This week, the re-structure of the Baelham has continued, but I think (fingers crossed) it's sorted now and I can proceed. Chs 22-24 are pretty much in the can, and I've got a good start on Chs 25 and 26 -- and that, I think, should be the end of the Baelham Arc!

That's all I've got this week. Look for the conclusion of Chapter 21 by Friday, July 7!

As always, welcome to new followers and thanks for reading!

Chapter 21 (part 1 of 3) is up!

And Edith has solved a puzzle.

You may have noticed that I said 1 of 3 above after saying Ch 21 would be a 4-parter last week. You also might remember I'd said something about Murphy's Law. Well... Funny story. (^_^); When I got into Ch 24, things just weren't sitting right, so I had to go all the way back to Ch 21 to figure out where my foundation was uneven. I've touched every single chapter in between, since. I've even had to make a couple new ones. And this is why I write in arcs!

More on that eventually in Drafting. In the meantime, look for Ch 21, pt 2 by Friday, June 29!

As always, welcome to new followers and thanks for reading! And although it's late, a glad Midsummer to ye!
