Alright, so let’s talk about why Danger Zone taking so long to be published. Because some people might be wondering why mi deh ya a write whole heap a book when Danger Zone nuh out yet. But hear mi out, if you guys didn’t know before, Mi Amor kinda real.
Yeah, now let that sink in.
Diamonté? That’s me.
O’Neil? That’s… well, let’s just say he’s an ex (we not even ago call no name too loud and no we’re not together).
Now, before anybody get excited, no, mi never inna no mafia/ gunman and gun gyal lifestyle. The gunman and kingpin business? Pure fiction. But the emotions, the feelings, and some of the experiences? Very much real. Which is exactly why Book 2 taking long.
See, when yuh writing about something that actually happened to you, it’s a whole different process. Mi affi go through memories, feelings, and ask miself, How mi really want fi tell dah story ya? Plus, mi want to picture my future sons without all the poly relationship mix-up and the mafia drama. Because let’s be honest, my kids in the future nah go really a grow up inna no underworld.
And then there’s Elle, my sister.
Her real name is Gabriella, but mi call her Elle inna the book. And mi want her to be able to pick up this book one day, read it, and be excited because her sister wrote it. Mi want her fi see herself in the book, and know it’s her, and feel proud.
So yeah, Danger Zone is taking a little time. But trust mi, when it done? It ago nice.
