What makes a man righteous? Every vice and virtue has been synthesized as consequence of complex thought. The “good and bad” traits mutate constantly; furthermore, the morality concept is biased at an individual level. Even concrete rules, such as the Bible’s Leviticus, or the Muslim Sharia Law, are open to interpretation. Perhaps, as is my contention, a thirst for concrete morals was satisfied by religious concepts. The need for a just third-party was so great that it possessed the lives of early mankind. Now, religion possesses all of us.
